Est.2009 in Atlanta, GA. Tomboy Fresh is passionate about creating quality female urban wear, infusing music, sports, and personal lifestyle. With hipsters at an all time high and skateboarding as commercial as ever, the fashion scope is ever shifting. Shifting to a look that is unique. Tomboy Fresh encompasses this movement by providing a unique brand that gives identity to the ‘not so girly’ girls that play tough. With a positive work ethic and an undying sense of ambition, we strive to produce creative, original, clean and fun designs for everyone to enjoy.
THE TOMBOY FRESH STORY
Fiona Simone, being a musician and veteran graphic artist, took her vision, meshed her skills, and created an icon that expressed her overall style and the vibe of her crew. She started making T-shirts that were initially worn by Simone and her band during performances. The catchy Tomboy Fresh shirts caught the attention of fans and the request were rapid. A majority of the demand actually came from wearing the brand and being flagged down on the streets by people from various cultural backgrounds and ages all intrigued by the brand. People wanting to know what did it mean? But more importantly where can they find it?
She decided to ask her best friend since childhood Kareem Nelson to help her out. With his eclectic, trendsetting style she was confident he would keep all the designs and colour schemes relevant to the ever changing fashion world. He already knew and understood Fiona’s vision and what Tomboy Fresh stood for. She wanted to make hip and stylish clothes for girls and women like herself who want to look great and feel comfortable without being forced into men’s/boys department for the desired fit. With no brand that targeting that market, Tomboy Fresh will fulfil the void and offer tomboys their own brand of clothing. |
They begin selling shirts through social networks and at shows. The first batch sold quickly and keeping up with the demand proves to be quite a challenge. The increasing demand called for an additional partner so Fiona also enlisted friend, R.Michele Mercer, a freelance marketer for various fragrance designers. Her marketing and accounting experience is necessary as the demand has escalated and sales are increasing. They’ve created a power house to continuously build a indestructible brand.
THE TOMBOY FRESH BRAND
Tomboy Fresh isn’t just a brand, it’s a statement. A tomboy is defined as a girl who exhibits boy-like characteristics and behaviour,
including their less feminine style of dress and engaging in games and activities that are often physical in nature. While female masculinity is often tolerated in young girls, it is ostracized in older girls and adolescents usually resulting in social repression or public ridicule. Tomboy Fresh's mission is to inspire strength, courage and wisdom by presenting a brand that empowers the nonconforming female to take a stance and be heard. Our designs will bring gender inequality to the forefront mocking society’s stereotypes through sarcastic slogans, in attempt to eliminate the tomboy stigma.

Sisters, mothers, grand mothers, athletes, school teachers, coaches, actresses, rappers, models, singers, hair stylists, cooks, doctors, judges, aunts, firemen, students, military, lawmen, pilots, race car divers, boxers, and the list goes on for females who aren’t afraid to express their fresh.
